**Update** My daith piercing, 2+ months later

6/27/16 After about a week of swelling and pretty tender healing, things got MUCH better. Granted, the healing is SUPER slow on this and still I am needing to clean 2 times a day (just with hot water and a q tip) to prevent build up and bump formation (technical term of course!) I went in last week to have the center ball put back in, figuring they would pop it back in pinch things together and I'd be on my way. Unfortunately I was mistaken about how all of that was going to go down. They removed the entire ring, sterilized (yes I'm thankful for that), re fitted for the new ball), then proceeded to put the ring back in with the piercing needle, straight needle in a round-ish hole, doesn't feel good. It took probably 15 minutes for everything but this piercing studio is meticulous. He inspected the piercing and recommended that I continue 2 times a day cleaning to prevent bump formation (I have small ones at the top of the piercing because of some build up/not following my c...

Salmon, flash mobs, friends, fitness, coaching, PR's, what a week/weekend!

6/2/13 Wow, so it's been a little while since the last post. Whoops! Didn't mean to let that happen! Since my last post: I've had a birthday...I'm dangerously close to mid-thirties, I've had a great week in the gym (PR's in back squat, front squat, snatch, and clean & jerk!), I've made some pretty delicious recipes...in my hotel room (that has no kitchen!), and I've spent time with some amazing people in my life (including supporting a friend who was doing a surprise (not so surprise) flashmob! I guess there's no need for more writing since I summarized it all in one sentence. I'm impressed! So, let's start with salmon. I made a delicious Herb Crusted Salmon from one of my favorite paleo sites,  PaleOMG . I did all of this in a hotel room with no kitchen so trust me it's easy! I used a toaster oven to bake it! Here's my finished product, it was delicious! Moving right along, the flash mob. This was wonderful and so exciti...

Another trip to Cocok's

Image
10/24/12 So this post is a little late (and out of order)...but, better late than never! Before a weekend trip to the Keramas it only made sense to go and get my toes beautified by the lovely artists at Cocok's... It didn't come out exactly how I wanted it, but it's beautiful none the less!

First stop Cocok's

10/3/12 I wouldn't be living in Okinawa if I didn't have 10 little works of art on my feet. Today made it official...first (and definitely not last) visit to Cocok's for an out of this world Pedicure that will never be topped. NEVER EVER. In fact Cocok's has ruined pedicures for life for me. I don't even bother going in the states anymore because it just leaves me pissed off and disappointed. Feast your eyes...no airbrushing here folks, all done by hand, and such microscopic detail...especially those baby toes! Ahh. Bliss.
