Day 3: Traveling to Bharatpur, yes that's poop on the floor

Image
--> Leading up to today I was warned about flying domestic, told about how flights are always delayed, and to anticipate hours of delays. I was optimistic however, and perhaps naïve. Needless to say I thought maybe my positive attitude had paid off because when we got to the airport and checked in, the flight was “on time”. Even all the way up to what would be boarding things looked like they would be going off without a hitch, all other flights on the board listed a delay, some hours long, but my flight seemed good to go. Until 11:40 (10 mins before scheduled departure) when they typed the dreaded words… “Delay” Thankfully the delay listed was only about 25 minutes (but that would soon prove way too good to be true!) Flying domestic is quite the experience in Nepal. When you go through security (I should have put that word in air quotes) you put your bag on the belt, I’m pretty sure they don’t give a shit what you have in it, I had small liquids and a razor, nail cl...

Travel Must Haves!

Image
2/7/18 I've been meaning to write this post for a really long time. I've had it drafted in various forms, notes on post-its, memos in my phone, reminders set. I'll be honest, things just got away from me and I slacked! I always have people asking me for recommendations or seeing things on my Instagram story and asking me about them, so I decided to compile a list of my FAVORITES, my must haves! I try to travel carry on only, so these are all items that I have found either essential, or helpful in one way or another! I'll list them in no particular order! **Ebates. First and foremost whenever you're shopping online you'd be foolish not to use this! It's free money for some shopping you're going to do anyways! Sites offer various percentages back on your shopping trip. The sites change their percentages and sometimes offer bonuses so check back often! Just to give you a little idea, I've gotten $656 (don't judge I like to shop!) back from ...

Bali Day 16: It's Not Goodbye It's See You Later, New Years Eve at 10,000 Feet, and Recovering From a Travel Hangover

Image
12/31/17 I woke up this morning, feeling not like the other mornings in Bali. Like someone throw me a Xanax and quick!  An intense morose feeling had crept into my body and I was trying to balance that while also appreciating the last moments that I had on this precious island. I thoroughly enjoyed my last delicious (cooked/prepared for me) breakfast. Have I mentioned that fruit?! I surely will not forget that fruit! I enjoyed a conversation with Ogy talking about his wedding, my stay here and how it was so wonderful because of him, his family, the villa, and wishing him well on his upcoming wedding. Sadly Made couldn't take me to the airport to drop me off, his in laws became ill and he had to tend to them, he sent me a message late in the evening letting me know, so I had a new person transporting me. Perhaps for the better. I'm not certain that my heart could take the sadness of saying goodbye to my sweet friend. I think the Universe knows how to take care of yo...

A Single Girl's Guide to Online Dating: Episode 2: The 2 Witnesses

Image
10/28/17 Without further ado, 2 witnesses. Perhaps the most epic dating disaster I've had, the most appreciated story by my friends, and one that constantly gets referenced via the tagline "2 witnesses". I talked to this person (I'll call him Cameron to preserve his real name, for those of you dating in Okinawa, his POF name had "adventure" in it but I also won't disclose the full name there because I'm not a total shady bitch!) for a really long time via POF, then eventually text, and even after that a FaceTime conversation before we eventually went out. All seemed really cool despite the big age difference, and the fact that he clearly states that he is very religious, and I clearly state that I am not. Throughout conversation he did indicate that he would never shove Jesus down my throat etc, phew. As I sit here typing, I wish that were the case. What happened in actuality was way worse! It started off well, maybe I was blinded by the...

A Single Girl's Guide to Online Dating: Episode 1: The Background

10/27/17 This has been a draft for some time. Waiting in the wings for the perfect time. While I won't disclose real names or identifying information for any of the disasters in this little mini series I'm dubbing "A Single Girl's Guide to Online Dating", I will give you the information that I was given, as well as the roller coaster rides I was taken on. Here's what they don't tell you about online dating. You have to become the FBI. The freaking FBI. You might think you're smart, you need to get smarter. Everything is a lie. Perhaps some of you are out there reading this thinking, that cynical bitch doesn't know what she's talking about. I do, I assure you! Believe absolutely NONE of what you read and hear online. NONE. Don't get caught up in the web of lies. People have no shame in lying to your face. Know this, understand this. You should also know that someones crazy is not a reflection of you. You also don't have to go down th...

The most epic girls trip...weekend in Tokyo...all the hashtags...I think I'm still drunk!

Image
10/26/17 A whitey, a Mexi, and a Paki walk into a bar... A few days have passed since we all parted ways and returned to our respective homes, and presumably sobered up. Although, I'm not entirely convinced that my urine isn't still 90% Tito's Vodka! While I like to think that I can be cunning and witty at times, there is absolutely no way in the world that I could (or would even attempt) accurately put to words the epic-ness of the Girls Trip weekend that just occurred. Shenanigans just doesn't seem to do it justice. It's pretty safe to say that we all probably pissed our pants...more than once. We all might need some kind of alcohol treatment, or at least some kind of IV re hydration therapy, don't think we didn't look for one during breakfast one morning! I definitely don't intend to share all of the inside jokes, the laughs, and the inner workings of our girl minds, that make girls trips so sacred. But I will say, that no one is luckier than ...
