3 Weeks but Who's counting?! Oh and...I'm baaaaack!

Yes it's been a hot minute since I've posted, creative genius takes time :)

Or perhaps there were a bazillion things going on in life that needed to be dealt with. At any rate, life is grand, and I'm back in action, collecting passport stamps, and taking you with me!

What's the next big trip you ask? Oh just one I've wanted to take for a while...I'll be spending 20 ish days traveling all over Thailand with some brief stints in Taiwan and Cambodia!


The majority of my time will be spent in Thailand...ALL OVER THAILAND. So if by the end of August you can't find me, don't come looking. Just kidding, perhaps come join me, living in Thailand, eating amazing food, and admiring some of the most beautiful animals in the world!

Without too many spoilers, here's the "rough draft" of the upcoming trip...

Taipei (approx 24 hours)
Bangkok
Chiang Mai (approx 1 week), including some exploring of Chiang Rai and Laos
Phuket
Krabi
Phuket (1 night)
Cambodia
Bangkok (1 night)
Taipei (less than 24 hours)
Okinawa (week-ish)

Anyone else traveling this summer? I'm already looking ahead and planning a dream sheet for future trips...

Bali

Now to figure out how to pack for 20 days in just one suitcase...can I do it?!

Honestly just trying to figure out if this was going to be a breeze or the mother bitch of all piercings. Bali Day 11: A Balinese FULL Body Massage, Nature, and What I've Google'd Today

12/26/17 Things I’ve googled today: is there arranged marriage in Bali Which then led to a very intriguing read about polygamy and how in certain areas in Indonesia it exists but usually only in the very poor, and the very rich (like high government officials and religious personnel) kind of makes you raise an eyebrow if it’s ok for the super well to do, but then viewed differently when the very poor do it. A status symbol for the rich men to take many wives. And a survival or barbaric and primal existence for those of a lower class. So interesting. I've also googled: How do American's buy property in Bali. Come to find out you can't technically have property in your name in Bali but there are 3 different and common workarounds to getting your dream villa. Hiking Hawaii (on acompressed schedule); Makapu'u Lighthouse, Manoa Falls, Waimea Falls, Dole Plantation

6/22/19 With only one weekend for fun stuff and exploring while in Hawaii on a business trip, I knew that I had to make the most of my very limited time. There was no doubt that hiking would be a major part of those plans! I had intended on waking up around 4:30 am and heading to Koko Crater to kick the day off, but a week full of battling jet lag finally caught me and sleep won in the end. Hike 1: Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail Starting a little later than planned (6:30am) I headed off to a my first destination, Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail. The drive from Waikiki to the light house was beautiful, along the coast, with several scenic stop offs that I took full advantage of, putting me even further behind schedule but with some added in Hawaii experiences too! This park opens at 7am (something I hadn't previously known) Makapu'u Trail is completely paved the entire way up. I wore my hiking shoes but would have been very happy doing it in my Chacos.
